The anchovy capital of Catalunya, the town of l’Escala on the Costa Brava, is a busy fishing port beneath the Montgris mountain. Here, in the old town and away from the fish market, you’ll find some charming restaurants and cafés. L’Escala anchovies are typically served with ‘pan amb tomaquet’, crusty white toasted bread rubbed with garlic, olive oil and soft tomato. Three 100g jars.
